A Great Finish to a Friday

We managed to finish harvest on Friday!!

It was a nice surprise to come home and find this beautiful felting wool...

and cat keychain on my table...

Thanks, Maryann!!

They are too beautiful to use!

Then it was off to the Bus Demolition Derby...

Yes...I am still in Saskatchewan not Arkansas!!

First,

it was Let's Make a Deal with cargo containers where a little girl won a quad!

Next... it was "Race the vehicle you drove here".....

It was big 3/4 ton trucks challenging each other

  then.....

this little Firefly(aka. pizza delivery boy) took the field to challenge the winning truck....

He was the underdog and no one expected much from this little puddle jumper...

but

 he surprised us all....

and took the checkered flag in the end!!

The driver said his success was front wheel drive but tires are hard to find for this little car

Next was the 'Rollover' competition

Where local firefighters awaited....

to flip the cars ...

back up on their feet!!

250$ is not enough for self inflicted whiplash!!

Finallly..
it was the real attraction of the night....

This was a funder raiser for the St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan,Saskatchewan

organized by Davin Emmel of Dart Services.

31 buses ready to do some damage on the figure 8 track....

Davin Emmel's M&M bus

These drivers went all out decking their buses with train horns and chrome stacks,

Snazzy tires....

Prisoners and bars....

Camo and cornstalks....

and even a patchwork bus!!

After 2 hours of smash 'em, crash 'em up....

there was nothing left but metal carnage and smoke.

It was a lot of laughs and proceeds went to a great cause!!

Who knew?!?!?

  1. Thanks for sharing these great pictures, Krista. I heard they had to turn people away there was such a crowd. Much appreciation goes to the volunteers who worked that evening to benefit the Torquay Community Centre (the former Torquay School).
