The Air Up Here.....

I feel like that song.....

'I've Been Everywhere,Man.....'

But really I have mostly been UP here!!

On the roof of the new garage....

Looks like a rib cage....

Seeing the insides of a 'whale' of a garage....

It is really starting to take shape now

The roof is tinned with no casualities....close but all are safe!!

The only sewing I have managed to fit in was 3 hours before Jaxon's Baby shower

 which took place on Sunday...

I made a receiving blanket for all to sign

Thank you to all who came.....

You made their day special!!

Some Rest for the Weary....

The skies in Saskatchewan this summer have been incredible...

Not to mention scary with all the storms!!

Between haying and the garage build,

The crew waiting for another day of work...maybe they could wash the window...

We managed to squeeze in a trip to Kenosee Lake......

to stay at the cabins....

I got to spend some time with Jaxon when everyone went golfing....

Go to one of the last remaining drive-ins where the line up was super long...

Still on the highway waiting to get in!!!

We were one of the last to get in before the show started!!

Some time at the campfire...

Look at these woosy boys under the blankets!!

Visited the Chalet which is now the Visitor Center at Kenosee

We just don`t build things like we used to....

The Artist`s Colony was stationed at all the little cottages again this year...

One of my favorites is Prairie Fire Studio

by Margaret Delainey of Regina, Saskatchewan.

Margaret just happens to be the mother of another super talented artist, Brenda Blackburn.

My favorite picture is the poppies....

but really they were all works of art....

The next cabin.......

had this work in progress...

Hard to tell the photo from the painting!!

Mom has been teaching Justin how to paint.....

One of Justin`s works in progress

maybe one day we can be artists in residence in one of these little cabins.

It could be a Quilting - Painting Retreat!!

On the quilting frontier.....

I did manage to find a moment to finish my Squirrel in the Forest Friends Series.

Kind of fitting for some time at the lake!!

Now to concentrate on getting some my flower beds looking like mom`s!!

I know my flowers are under there some where....

It is going to be brutal!!

The Maiden Voyage

 Yesterday was my Uncle's Funeral.....

We were blessed to have him in our lives.

He will be missed.

It made us think we need to start taking the time to enjoy the little things in life.

So with a beautiful evening upon us....

We loaded up the kayaks.....

Headed down the dusty road......

To the low level crossing that was flowing over the road

We launched into the rapids...Yikes!!

They were only at the road...beware of rocks!!

Our adventure began....

We were surprised to find such a different world from what we always see from the road

There were clams on the banks....

Weird flowers we have never seen before.....

Mother ducks herding their babes down the creek....

The creek was flowing at a rate we could glide down...

As smooth as glass and not a bug to be had!!

The bridge was our half way mark....

This creek really twists and turns....

took us 2 hours to get to the next low level crossing!

It was an incredible evening...

As an added bonus to the evening,

Maryann brought me a gift of one of these bike baskets she made!!

How cute are these!!

I picked the one on the left

Thanks Maryann for the great evening and the basket!!

We need to do this more often!!

Take time to enjoy life...it is short!!

Weekend Ended at the Top of the World

The black eyed susans are out in full force...

The skies were in brilliant colors....

And we were off to a day at Craven Country Jamboree!!

Of course....

as with every adventure there were a few stops on the way...

Ombre by Robert Kaufman at Peachtree Quiltshop in Regina, Sask.....

A stop at the Pink Parasol in Lumsden, Sask. to wait out the rain....

The rain hammered the grounds.....

But we persevered and splashed our way to the E.Bourassa Tent VIP Tent

Our Craven experience began with The Oakridge Boys...

whoI have to report...are no longer 'boys' but were great none the less!!

Then it was Doc Walker.....

We had a great view from our seats....

The rain did not dampen our spirits especially when the Dixie Chicks hit the stage!!

It was a great day with three of my favorite people...

Christa, Terry, Justin and Jeremy

Kudoos and a big thank you to E.Bourassa & Sons for the invite!!

We were fed, watered and treated like royalty...

You made it a great day!

This is my favorite 'Chicks' Song....

Take a moment to let it load and listen...

Spend some time with the ones you love this summer!!

I know I am....

The brownies were just the way I like them, Mom!!
