Fire Skies and Fence lines

Where has this week gone to??

Driving home last Sunday from Estevan the skies were amazing..

Minus the dirty windows of the truck....

I love the reflection in the water....

Remembrance Day was spent with a few moments of silence

Between all the cows bellering as we sorted the last pasture 

and

 brought them home

The dogs love 'helping' 

Looks more like a rodeo

Those were some seriously fat heifers. 

Summer was good to them!!

The rest of this week has been spent on moving a fence line over 300 feet.

Not what I had planned for my November 

but 

with a new power line going through,

 it was safer to move it than take a chance on it electrocuting some cows!! 

Pretty efficient at fencing now!! 

4 days....

New fence up and old fence down!!

Chantel sent me a picture of Jaxon this afternoon.

Oh..how I need my a Pooh Bear kind of nap!!

Remembrance Day

Take some time to remember all those who fought for our freedom

Those who continue to serve our country.

We are very blessed to live in such an amazing country

Sunday Stash

I have been sewing up a storm for a friend...

Her mom passed away 

and

 she wanted some quilts made from her clothes.

This is definitely NOT my best work 

but 

with what I had to work with - it will have to do!!

It was rayon,knit, and spandex.

Let's just call them....Memories.

After those, I felt like I deserved to work on MY stuff..

I pulled out all my Wedding Ring Star blocks 

and 

sewed them up!

I want this to be queen size 

So I have to make at least 20 more blocks...

Even the scraps are pretty!!

And like I needed a further distraction...

Tamra from Pleasant Pheasant Fabrics had organized a stash sale

 from a friend of hers who passed away

She is getting my stash when I go!!!

 She did an awesome job of organizing it all in lines of fabric!!!

I purchased some Sun Dancer

I think I will make it into this bag....

After seeing Sarah Harder's Dresden plate in greys

I thought this would be a great selection...

Tamra is such a thoughtful person.

This special package was saved just for me!!

Tamra knew I loved Dragonflies!!

Can you believe it is NOVEMBER 2??

Where does the time go??

I was cutting grass yesterday 

and

 realized it was November...

I promptly put the lawnmower away FOR THE WINTER!!

What the heck....

cutting grass in November in Saskatchewan?????

This is what I should be doing more off...

I have to say these 6" blocks are not for the faint of heart

A trillion little pieces in 6x6"

These take patience. 

I am using scraps from my Sedona Star Quilt

Batiks in Blues and Browns

And a side order of Western Kick....

Is there a thing called Western Batiks???

These blocks are picked randomly on the Gnome Angel Blog 

a couple each week

 But like the crazy fools we are.... 

Tracey Holzer and I are going to try to finish this 

for June when our guild plans to have a show!!!

I think I am 1/3 done the 99 blocks

I know Tracey is 33 percent done!!

Some of these stupid little blocks have taken 2 to 3 hours

C-R-A-Z-Y!!!

I started working on the block named Tracey tonight

As I told Tracey... she is a complicated woman!!

All I can say is...

It's a darn good thing there is not a block named Christa
