ReplyDeleteRegards from Alberta,

Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing photos on your blog.
Good morning ~ I chose to wait for morning to enter your giveaway today so I could wander your blog a bit first. I've really liked reading some of your travels and the pictures. I had to laugh at your description of a quilter's wants vs needs. LOL Too funny. And the painted horse outside the one restaurant was awesome. One of those shops you visited you showed a picture and said you just love Carmen's cutting counter with the glass fronts. Yes, I can totally imagine that being in an old store. In fact, it took me back to my childhood when we would go to Neosho, MO to see my Grandparents. My Grandfather owned a Ben Franklin Dime store for years and years and I always loved going to work with him. He would let me 'work' in the store although I know now I wasn't really working since I was under the age of 8 but the women who worked there made me feel like I was really doing something. He had a counter just like that as his checkout counter for the store and inside those glass fronts were all his five and ten cent candies which, back then were sold in bulk.
ReplyDeleteAnd then another stop you made was a little shop, I think it was from your Paris post where there was a little restaurant in the back of a store. You said your husband and yourself had Dill Pickle Soup which intrigued me as I had never heard of that before. My first love is cooking and baking so it's rare to hear a recipe that I hadn't heard of before. I have to ask what that tasted like. I found a recipe online saying it's a very old Swiss recipe but, does it have the taste of dill pickle at all? I know, if the same recipe as I found there are a lot of other ingredients that would tone that taste down but I wondered. So?? What DOES that taste like? I may have to try it.
To answer your question, I follow a blog for many reasons, it may be for the tutorials, giveaways, someone using a lot of my favorite fabrics in most of their projects they are showing on their blog, recipes (of course), and pictures like those you have shown in different quilt/fabric shops or interesting towns (like the ones from Paris with their very own tower).
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway. I've wanted to play around with some Ombre fabrics so I'd love to win.
I'm just a beginning quilter so I love reading tutorials, tips - or even just seeing inspirational pictures of what others are making.
ReplyDeleteI've bookmarked your blog, so I can read it from my phone, waiting in line, waiting at dr. appts. Love your newest post on Spring Cleaning. (something I need to do). Love the Snow Flurries! I too have background somethin somethin playing on the laptop while quilting. (Gotta love Hulu!) My favorite things to read about on blogs is the works in progress, and sometimes the fails :) Congrats on your one year anniversary! Here's to the next, oh, say, 75 anniversaries! Glad I found you in the hop!

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the stories about your animal adventures and your photos of them! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI just scrolled through everything I could see by clicking on your header so, basically, about 8 or so posts. I love your blog. I really enjoy seeing your animals, the snow, your farm. To find your quilts, too, makes it a fabulous place to visit. I'm going to follow now. Thanks for participating in the blog hop.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that's made us laugh this year is the miss spoken things. The other day we were all laughing so hard we were crying.
ReplyDeleteLove the Hexa pillow! More small projects for busy quilters would be great!
ReplyDeleteI love the Canadian quilt you made on your recent post! I love that you add in picture of your animals, and what you are doing at the moment, and what you plan on doing. I really like what you do with your blog, and I"ll be back to read more.! Thanks for the chance to win!
