Metachos Quilt Retreat

What a better way to spend a windy weekend....

At the Metochos Quilt Retreat in Macoun,Sk
I loved this sign that directed you where people live
25 women from all over...
like Lloydminister, Yorkton, Kipling and Assinaboa came together to sew till they drop!
Three days of pedal to the metal

Its always great to see all the creations...

 I just LOVED Leona's bag....

There was quite a few Canada 150 quilts...

I may have to do this mini one day...

Vintage linens made into sunflowers

Busy as a Bee..

Seeding is completed...

I thought this said it all....
I got to spend all of Mother's Day with the mothers and their children
Branding and tagging so they can go to pasture

It was a looooong day.

Even though we had great help from Gary Steinke and Scout, my dog.
You know your exhausted when you fill the truck
and
come back the next day to see you didnt even put the gas cap back on!!
So i spoiled myself and took alittle more than 35 minutes to myself.
Why 35 minutes??
My new iron turns off after a random number....35....
At which time you have to go unplug it and start again.
Not my favorite feature but it wont burn down my house in my forgetful fatigue.
I have been sourcing my scraps from the same bag now for the Moda Blockheads blocks.
I swear they mate while i am gone.
The bag is still full!!
Block 9 by Jo Morton
Block 11 by Lisa Bongean
I opted out of block 10....just wasnt my style.
This is a free block of the week.
It will run for 48 weeks.
You still have time to get in on the fun as they are 6 1/2" blocks.
Great instructions too!!
I have had some Google time in the tractor.
I saw these little custom tags which were made in Canada
(Alberta to be specific)
Brick Bubble
You up load your design and Diane lasers it on to acrylic tags
I plan to use them on some of my creations!
Pretty cute!
Hope you have a great long weekend.
I plan on having a rest....

Seeding in the dust...

The grass is green and the cows are out grazing.  Almost pasture time!
We checked fields
and
the neighbours dog was over(as always)so he came for a ride too

I have 4 dogs....what's one more???

Except I think this dog eats more than all three of my collies!

My dogs love seeding and harvest.

They get to ride in the grain truck!
I swear Timber would drive if you let her!!
I have been cultivating and seeding for two weeks now.
I have listened to 4 books, sung my heart out to all the music on my phone
and
even watched/ listened to some stuff on Netflix!!

Just trying to keep the brain occupied....

I can't believe how dry it out there.

We had a ton of snow but it has all soaked in!!

My favorite folklore is

Seed in the dust and your bins will bust

Seed in the mud and the crop will be a dud!

Plenty of dust....

Dawson has been snoozing between bunny hunts

It has been some long days but nearly done!!

Long tractor shadows and sunsets!

I have to thank my mom.

She told me the fence was broken at Justins where we keep the bulls.

We haven't had time to get over there so mom fixed it today.

Thanks, Mom!

I needed a good chuckle!!

I love how the bulls sat there and watched as you repaired it!!

Great pic!!
