First Stop..... Williston,ND...
which now is called Boomtown,USA
To see one of our favorite Garden Stores...
Country Floral to tease ourselves!
Second Stop...Glendive, MT....
Where one of THE best quiltstores is
and
Just happened to be Makoshika Quiltshow going on!!
It was quick run through the show....
3D...
Barns and Blocks...
Judy Neimeyer Bed Runner...
Of course,
Justin and I loved this Brands quilt...
Cathedral Windows...
I think this was hand pieced...
Chickens(for Jane)..
and more Chickens...
Christmas Quilts...
A Day and Night in Blues and Greys...
There was only one quilt that I thought I'ld love to do...
It was this Dizzy Geese....
Might have to look for the pattern!!
Log Cabins...
I still love Mexican Star but have never made on YET!!
It's great to see the same quilt done in different fabrics...
I think this is done in Little Black Dress....
Can't go wrong with a black and white and red all over!!
Loved the border on these Snowmen...
Stars....
I really need to finish my tree I started along time ago.....
They had quite a display of Hardanger...
There were not many vendors...which saved me some dough!!
The guild had made some beautiful silent auction items....
Then it was back in the truck... headed to Billings,Mt
You know you're in cattle country
When you see this little passenger...
I love seeing the changes in landscape...
Only 4 hours from home and completely different!!!
In Billings,
we stopped at Backdoor Quiltstore
It was jam packed with eye candy for the quilter....
As far as the eye can see.....
Amazing Batiks...
This was the cutest Shoe sack......
Lots of Crank sewing machines...
Well worth the stop!!!
On our way back home,
we stumbled upon a Mexican crafter in Sidney,MT
He imports furniture made of wood from Copper Canyon in Mexico
His wares were amazing and HEAVY!!
Then it was off for home...
We saw this sign on the way home...
Made us laugh....
A suggested rest before hitting good old Sask Roads....
We need to put this up on all our roads these days.
How did they know we were going home???
Stay tuned...
the Hoffman Challenge tomorrow!!
Christa
Thanks for sharing the quilt show and road trip, that was fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dianne!! Glad you enjoyed the ride!!! I can be a crazy chauffeur!!!
DeleteI love the Dizzy Geese quilt. We have many bad routes here this year. Our closest town has put a new streets levy on the May ballot. I bet it passes by a landslide!
ReplyDeleteOh...Miss Carol!! You have no idea of bad roads!!! We may have free health care but thats if you can get to the hospital on these roads!!! You would be horrified to see the shape some of them are in!!!
DeleteDizzy Geese is a beauty and I like the idea of a silent auction at a quilt show ... too late to do it for this year's on May 9th and 10th, but maybe in 2016. We head to Billings once a year and I always pop into Backdoor Quilts .... hope you ate at Burger Dive.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get to Burger Dive...maybe next time. Can't wait to go to your show!!
ReplyDeleteI'm typing out the cards for the entries and it will be good! Lots of us are still merrily sewing away on quilts we plan to have in the show.
DeleteGreat photos, Christa...except for the snow ones this morning...
ReplyDeleteWe're going to have to pick a quilt show that's about halfway between us and meet up some day. Come to think of it, are you planning on going to Quilt Canada in Lethbridge next summer?
