St Kitts

St. Kitts is an island we have been to before 

When we were looking for something to do this day,

 I heard these three kids talking about going to Caribelle Batiks.

We shared a cab with two Betty and a Cliff.

The Betty's were both nurses and Cliff was an accountant.

He kept the money flowing for the quilting habit.

They were all 83 years old. 

Still looking to build their stash!! 

Loved it!

Not much had changed since we had last stopped here

but it was still a nice day!

The pieces I like the best

 were all hanging on the line!!

 I resisted and walked away with NOTHING!!

There is hope for me yet!

It was a nice day spent with some new friends from Illinois!

The day was ended with a movie on the deck. 

One of my most favorite things...

Star watching with some popcorn and a good movie!!

Next up... Barbados!

We landed here on a Sunday.

Everything was closed and we were fine with that.

I am not much of a shopper...

unless there is fabric or textiles involved!

This Bunny was ready for a beach day!

We headed down to the closest beach to just enjoy the sun for the day.

We selected a couple of loungers under an umbrella for 20$ 

 

We baked in the sun and played in the water for a few hours.

 

Next thing we knew...

A couple came along and kicked us off the chairs.

Said we took their chairs.

There was nothing on these chairs. 

We were one of the first load of peeps to get to this beach.

We got up and tried to negotiate

 and

 explain that we were there first.

But before we knew it... 

the woman was picking up our chairs and turning them to suite her taste.

Like good Canadians...we kept the peace and walked away.

We were on vacation.

We didn't want a fight.

But I have to say I was disappointed in myself. 

People.

We were bamboozled out of our chairs 

and

they were good at the heist.

We headed back to the ship and called it a day.

When we got to our room there was a little surprise waiting for us.

Some one who will remain nameless was having fun at the Casino the night before.

Might of been some pricey cookies 

but

they were good!

Martinique

I am pretty sure I am in vacation depression...

I am really missing my daily farm animal I don't have to feed

just

 showing up on my crisply made bed every morning.

Maybe I could talk Arnold into learning towel critters...

Martinique was our next stop.

It was orginally called Madinina or Island of Flowers.

I love all the colors on these islands.

I can see this as quilt some day!

This little french island has alot of people for the size of it!

Everything from small homes to mansions and estates.

This massive church was built in only one year.

It amazes me what skill people had to build such beautiful buildings.

I love architecture.

Such crisp lines in these rock walls. 

This could be a quilt!

Arches and tile work.

Amazing!!

Then it was off to some waterfalls 

in the rain forest

We stopped to buy a coconut freshly opened.

Justin's first comment was ....and he still has all his fingers!

Even the bridges are beautiful.

These cliff divers made their living from donations 

They were certainly in good shape!

I thought the steps up and down were enough for me!

They did this all day!!

It was another great day!

Got to love blue water and skies!

Grenada...the Spice Island

My favorite part of this cruise has been

 how

 these islands are still living the simple life.

Not too 'touristy' yet.

I even envisioned myself moving here.

I doubt that Arnold would be game for that 

but

I could see myself in a small place living the simple life here....

If I go missing....look in Grenada!!

I love how there rain forest, fabulous beaches and dry land

 in

 such a small spanse of space of 350 square miles

This island reminded me of Bali with the narrow mountainous roads.

Our driver buckled up and we were off!

We all asked where our seat belts were??

He said there are none....not a problem...you will be fine!

We toddled up to the high ground to check out where the spices where grew!

There was cocoa drying in the sun.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable 

about the medicinal properties of all the different spices

There was cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves and bay leaves

It smelled so good!

These men were helping hauling in the nets for Fish Friday in the local village!

WE made our way up to Grande Etang Lake in the bowl of the sleeping volcano

We tried local beers and rum punch!

Every island has a fort 

and

 it is always the best place to get a perspective of your surroundings.

It made our ship look pretty tiny in the distance!

The sunsets were so calming and beautiful.
