BAfter a day of just hanging out at the beach..
Snorkelling, swimming and baking... And I do mean baking!!!
We look like lobsters now!!
Watching the boats pull right up to the beach and unload...
We thought we should go do something the next day as we could not take another drop of sun.
We started the next day off with a good breakfast..
At least one of us did....Arnold figured he would give Spam a try....can you say....Kitty chow??!?!?
We headed up to the Baldwin Plantation...
I love the reflection pool...
This estate is now an art centre with some history about the family and their ranch ...
This saddle had a little rider on it....see him on the seat?
..
There were some great pieces of art...
Everything is so colourful here...
They have a pottery, photography, jewellery, and painting building....
I have a new appreciation for these pieces after our birdhouse making day...
And whales in stain glass...
I think I could live here...
This is a place you make time to try all those crafts you would love to do.....
And when you need a rest you come sit to reflect on the day...
This was a beautiful place....
Around every corner...
They were having a painting class the day we were here...
Lunch was at the Hali'imaile General Store where we met up with Gary's cousins, Richard and Adelle
Across the road was a distillery and glass blowing company...
Which invited you to come have a look..
What the heck....we aren't doing anything...
The least!!!!!!
These pieces sold for around 7000 dollars and were AMAZING!!!!
True artists in the art of glass blowing!!!
I would have taken any one of them home but would have to make a prison cell to display it because I would be afraid of it getting broke at my house
They had a lookout so you could watch the artists at work...
That is one big jug of water but this is one super hot craft!!!
Beautiful trees it up from the bottom...
This one reminded me of a magic lantern...
Supper was over to the other sid elf the Island to dine with some new found friends....
Karen and Nathan live in Grande Prairie and knew Arnold's cousins and before you know it we were invite come visit and have supper with them!!
Shocking!!!!.right, Terry???
Nathan BBqed some pork chops and Karen flambé some fruit over coconut ice cream...
Karen's parents were enlightening to have conversation with. It was a much enjoyed evening!!
They have been invited to come stay at my hostel at any given time!!!!
Thank you so much for a great evening, Karen and Nathan!!!!
Can't you see these two saying....hmmmm....maybe we should sell the farm....
Today....Pineapple Plantation!!
Christa
I love the pottery and the glass and how great to meet and dine with fellow Canadians!
