You take one large empty Catholic Church...
150 matching sets of tea cups...
One vendor selling backings and battings....
One mediocre host...
5 Jelly roll mats for a runway....
AND....
14 enthusiastic and creative quilters....
The Block Party Quilt Guild
You have a magic potion to create a fabulous quilt show!!
The theme was the Royal Wedding
in honour
of
Prince Harry and Megan Markle.
Everyone who came dressed to the nines!!
It was great to see friends from Regina....
Assiniboia....
Whitewood....
Alameda, Oxbow, Weyburn, and Estevan!
And friends that used to live here!!
The facinators came in every shape and size...
Some as far away as Dubia!!
Every one was excited for the show to begin...
It was sure not to disappoint...
The stories of how these quilts fit
into
'Something Old, New, Borrowed or Blue'
Began to emerge...
There was no shortage of things to see.
There were 170 different quilts to see!
All new since our 2016 show!
After the show,
Tea and Dainties beyond were served
and
the visiting began!!
It was another successful show...
Not sure how we will top this one...
BUT...
We will!!
Great job, girls!!!
Christa
I've been checking your blog every day (okay, in honesty a few times a day) to see photos of your event. Your club never disappoints! The only error you have in your entry is "mediocre host." I'm pretty sure it should be "magnificent host."
ReplyDeleteThanks Brenda! I was at a funeral the other day and a total stranger who doesn't quilt came up to me and said Christa? Your show was incredible! It must have been really good or really bad for her to remember my name!!
