If you have time before the end of October....
Make trek to the Weyburn Library
where
you will find the Allie Griffin Art Gallery!
The Fibre Art Network has a display there right now
called Threads of Hope
Every piece of quilted art is the same size
and connect to each other with a ribbon of red color
from
one to the other!
Each piece has a theme.
This polar bear was stunning with his 3-D effect!
It is each artist's interpretation of their given theme.
It was such a fun day to walk through
and
try to figure out how each artist accomplished their piece.
Every technique under the sun was present.
Jaynie Himsl is a local artist among this collection.
I think she had a pivotal hand in this exhibit coming to Weyburn!
Addiction was her topic.
Blew us away on her use of fabric to make cigarette butts
They all were so impressive!
This collage of an RCMP was done under fine netting.
Another one of my favorites!
If there was one thing we felt was missing....
It was where each artist was from.
My friend, Lori had the honour of knowing one of these artists!
The pink one on the left side was an artist Lori had met down in Mesa, Arizona!
She lives in British Columbia when she is not snow birding!
You may not be a fan of Art quilts but the workmanship of these pieces are stunning!
Take the time and go have a look!
You will be shocked!
Pictures do not do them justice.....

(and the art gallery girls)
Ps. Where to next?
A birdie told me City Hall also has some works!
