Forest Fables by Esther Fallon Lau for Figo

Haven't the skies been incredible lately?

I can't believe the weather we have had either.

Sure makes the winter a lot shorter...

But so does going to Arizona for a few months!! lol

I recently made a quilt using this wideback
 by
 Westrade called Moonscapes

I used it as background for the front
as
a wide back(108"x108") will yield 9 yards of fabric!

You might this it is too mottled
but
it really adds an interesting element to it.

I used Eclectic Elements by Tim Holts

The pattern is called Brilliant by Taralee Quiltery in Manitoba.

It was a pattern I tested for her last year.

You can find that pattern HERE

My next project with that backing was this one!

I am loving this new line of fabric

called

Forest Fables by Esther Fallon Lau for FIGO Fabrics.

I love the tweedy look of the prints

AND

you guessed it....

It's BLUES AND BROWNS!

My aunt was working on a quilt called the Framed Inverted Star Quilt.

That free pattern can be found HERE

I thought the combination of this wideback

and

this FQ bundle would be perfect together!

I also really enjoyed using my new Blocloc Rulers

for

squaring up my HST's

I have sold them for awhile now but never got myself a set.

So many new quilters were purchasing them,

I decided I deserved a set!

They were right!

Made quick work of that task!

I quilted it myself.

Nothing crazy....

I put a scrappy piano key border on the outside to just shake it up a bit!

This was a fun quilt to make!

Love how it turned out!

You can find these fabrics and rulers
 on
my website if you would like some for yourself!

Thank you to every one who participated
in our
ELF YOURSELF sale

 on

We were blown away at the support for our small business!

We tried to offer things I love through out the year.

Most people have their stash already....

but there are a few orders waiting to go out!!

Who knew that these little brushes would be holding them ransom??

APPARENTLY... they are sitting in the NCY mail depot.

So sorry for the delay.

The mail system has been overwhelmed this year
with
all the armchair ordering!!

We also hosted a contest with Angela
of

You could win a package to finish your quilt!

One Westrade backing and Quilters Dream batting
from
Second Story Quilting
and
Angela will longarm it!

Thank you to all the shares, likes and follows!

Our winner of our contest was Joanne McMechan!!

Can wait to see what she sends to have quilted!

Can't thank everyone enough for your support!

We hope to complete all the orders this week!

Brilliant Quilt by Taralee Quiltery

This spring I made this quilt called Aztec Skies
By
Taralee Quiltery

She is a pattern writer from Manitoba

When she was looking for some pattern testers a few weeks ago,
I thought I would give her a hand!

This pattern is called Brilliant
And
Is fat quarter friendly

I have a stack of Eclectic Elements by Tim Holtz

So I split them into pairs and got started

I wasn’t sure if it was going to go where I had hoped

But I kept plugging along...,

When finished putting all the blocks together,
I loved it!

I have had a busy summer as it was 3 months
Since
I had a quilt on my long arm!

I used one of my new backings as the back ground fabric

Muted and mottled

I saw a technique where you sew the binding
On
With your long arm.
I think I’ll give it another try!

The Autumn Colors are perfect with this quilt!

I backed it with a leaf print flannel
And
Batting was luscious Quilter’s Dream orient

This is going to be a pretty sweet quilt to use this winter!

Have a look at Taralee Quiltery some time!

Some very good Canadian patterns!

Where Did May Go??

It seems like it takes forever for summer to come
but
then it just flies by!!

We finished seeding in the dust...
so those bins should bust..fingers crossed!

Mother Nature can be one tough cookie.

Maybe she will be nice to us this year!

We got a couple new residents.

Georgia and Amber

They are due to be mommas one of these days!

We have a few hens setting on eggs...

Sewing has been on the back burner for me.

There has been some brutal windy days
that
 should have warranted
some inside days
but
cows needed to go to pasture!

But you peeps!!!

Wow!!

I have been busy shipping backs like never before!

There are some fabulous new colors and lines.

Every time I open a new box I just want to go make something with them!

These new Suede backs are beautiful.

So far they only come in these three colors!

There are some new swirls...

And some new mottled ones!

I have been trying to post on Facebook
 to
keep you in the loop of all the new colors!

I did get my entry for Cherrywood Challenge submitted!
This year is Princess Diana

Pink is not a color I ever work with.

Can I get chosen a FOUR time in row???

We will see in July!

It was also my birthday!
I was spoiled beyond....

Colleen's carrot cake was divine!!

Lori gave me a new Mondo bag project

Mom bought me flowers

Chantel made me a featherweight Mandela with her new Cricut

There were more but I didn't get pictures!

Thanks so much everyone!

I didn't need a thing!!

Let's see if June can bring some rain....

May sure didn't!

Happy Saturday!
