Happy Canada Day!!

WOW!!

JULY 1.....

I hope there are some fireworks in your evening somewhere tonight!!

With all this rain,

the weeds and wild flowers are doing wonderfully!!

Alfalfa.....

Clover.....

Even the foxtail is beautiful in its array of purples....

As if that was not enough...

Mom and I decided to clean out the Prairie Greenhouse in Weyburn,Sk yesterday

It's kind of scary how many flowers fit in the back seat of the truck!!!

I am sure I will be regretting these after planting today!!
Speaking of gardening...

I finished my Antique Seeds Weekender bag!!

I did it 'quilt-as-you-go' ....

This time I used vinyl sheeting on the bottom for easy clean up.

Definitely need to keep an eye out for some laminated fabric next time!!

I love this pattern.

It is easy and has great results.

There is a support group for the Amy Butler Weekender Bag online
but
I have to say I have not had any trouble

I also have to say...

I have never read the instructions either.

I can hear my friends now....

'Shocking!!'

Have a great Canada Day!!

I will be crippled after all this planting!!

Bring it on, Summer!!

With all these grey days and rain,

I really would like to be doing this...

But instead I have been working on the haybine and tractors.

One of these days we can start haying!!

This has been my working area as of late...

Dirt and Oil DO NOT mix !

I am no mechanic...let's get that straight!!!

My local Partsguy is so patient with me when I bring him pictures like this

Saying I need this line...

and this hose....

that goes in this hole...

I don't know what things are called...

just know when oil is pouring out where it shouldn't be!!

I have been talking to myself when tackling these jobs thinking

'You eat a lion one bite at a time'

Got that green lion tamed!!

Isn't it nice of Dawson to oversee me from the cab??

 Jaxon's growth chart is finished...

My Cathedral Ceilings quilt took 2nd at the fair for Wallhangings...

I am nearly finished this weekender bag......

for....

M-E-EEEE!!'

The fabric is called Antique Seeds by Blue Hills.

Now can someone send some haying weather our way, please!!!

I want to pack this bag and go on a vacation!!

Aaahh... The Sounds of a Dryer.....

Can you believe it's June today??

Just racing through another year
and
speaking of speeding..

There were races at Estevan Motor Speedway last night..

It started off as a gorgeous night....

This man was sitting in front of me.

My son, Justin sells equipment for E Bourassa.

I sent him a pic to see if he knew this man.

Justin said he did not recognize the ears.

Come on, Justin....

Justin started texting us that we had 2 hours before a major storm was going to hit.

He was right....

We were ordered out of the stands and told to take cover!!

The lightening was crazy and the winds were high.

2 inches of rain later!!

Sad to report that a friend's tractor and airseeder

burned after being struck by lightening last night.

With all this rain,

he was probably done seeding anyways.

But on a good note...

We will be able to kayak for a few more weeks now with all this rain.

On an even better note...

I am enjoying the sounds of clothes drying in the new dryer!!!

Only had to wait 54 days for Sears to deal with it.

I am WAAY to patient...but lost it on the guy on Friday!!

Dealt with on Saturday!!

I think I deserve some time with my second weekender bag...

Going stitching..
