April??

Really??!!

Where did March go??

Things have obviously been super busy around here!

Nearly done calving.

As you can see, there are calves everywhere..

Warning...the next picture is graphic and may damage your eyes...

Not the bruise but just the ugly leg

.....with the major bruising

A cow decided she had enough of me
and
decided to boot my three times.

That has been two weeks of slow recovery.

I did tell my family I loved them
and
to divy up my quilty stuff if I was to have a blood clot.

So far...so good...

I am still quilting my own stash!

I was asked to do a commission quilt with a farm theme.

Homegrown by Deb Strain seemed fitting!!

I think you can't have 'farm' with out some red!

I love doing these Offset Flying Geese by Deb Tucker

So easy!!

There was one panel and a bunch of scraps left
so
I literally just started sewing pieces together willy nilly
to
make a bag for this quilt!

Not bad if I don't say so myself!!

I love it when you clean up all the fabric from one project!!

Can't wait for the finished project back from Terry Whitman!!

I know it's going to be stunning!!

With Spring pretty much here,

Colleen decided to have one of her famous tea parties for our guild.

It was such a nice afternoon

with friends

 Dainties and lots of laughs!

Thank you, Colleen!!

I bought my grandsons a couple of little bunnies for Easter.

This little guy went missing off the table...

Some one thought he was pretty sweet

I found him snuggled in Dawson's bed!!

I think she is trying to tell me something!

The Crocus Quilters in Weyburn,Sk
are
having a Gathering of the Guilds
on
Saturday, April 12, 2019!!

Can't wait to see all our quilting family from far and wide!

A Little Cherry Sprinkle

My girlfriend recently sent me this picture.....

I must have ranted enough about Justin buying cows.

He went to an auction to buy cows for me.

I said buy me 4 or 5 cows
but
he bought 17...

Must be his theory in life....

I have been trying to finish up 'old' projects lately

This one was a little kit from Sweetwater Shoppe
at
the Minot Quilt Show last year

Sometime a guy just need a little project for that sense of completion

It whipped up in no time

It also gave me a reason to try some quilting on my own!!

Just a little therapy...

This weekend is the Crocus Quilt Show in Weyburn, Sk

quilt show 2

Hope to see you all there!!

Sandy Cooke Trunk Show

It was a fun weekend!!

It started with a trunk show on Friday night in Weyburn,Sk by Sandy Cooke

Sandy used to live in Weyburn and was part of the Crocus Quilters

She was back to teach us how to use the quick curve ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful

Sandy showed us all kinds of quilts she has made over a number of years

I almost purchased this quilt kit when I was in Maui this winter!!

Sandy had everything from pieced to appliqué

Anita's arrowhead quilt

Her grandson's green quilt with a punch of his favorite colors, yellow and orange

Some funky animal prints

Appliqued Birds

Hexagons

I loved  this 'Don't Fence Me In' quilt

Sandy's One and Only Wool quilt

Sandy tea dyed her muslin for this this antique looking quilt
and
appliquéd the points all around the edge

The quilting was amazing
(sorry about the bad pictures)

A joint project which each section had to contain sunflowers

Most of Sandys backs were pretty unique

She has had all kinds of inspiration while working at Periwinkle quilt store in Saskatoon

A Block of the Month

It was great inspiration and we looked forward to the class

The View from Here

I think today qualifies as a snow day....

Good thing we finished winterizing the calving shed yesterday!!

I had the pleasure of teaching another class of Cathedral Ceilings...

These girls were members of the Weyburn Crocus Quilters

They are always alot of fun!!

This was Brenda's...

she's trying to hide her points which did not require hiding!!

Ester's.... Love the grey and red combo!!

Jaynie's... she ALWAYS thinks outside the box!!

One day you will see this in some fabulous creation!!

Leanne's lime greens are so fresh...

Thanks for the fun!!
You were all great students....

Now for my teaching...that's another story!!

The reason why there were no evaluation sheets...BRENDA!!

She SAAAAYS she just wanted to add that buttons or yoyos

should be a prerequisite in this class to hide the points!!

I am off to sew my day away!!
