Bunny Hill Contest

Bunny Hill Designs is having a contest.

It's Christmas in July

I wanted to Santa to stuff my stocking with a new sewing machine.

But I still don't know what kind I want.

I LOVE my old pfaffs but the new ones have really disappointed me.

I would love some more Superior threads!!

This stocking started with a charm pack of Reunion by Sweetwater for Moda

I love the look of needle turn but don't have that skill perfected.

The next best thing....

Ricky Tims stabilzer with a dab of glue and turned edges

A light press...

 Ready to be zigzagged down!

Some of these prints lended themselves to thread

The caps are another print from this collection.

The little holder is a scrap of zipper

With the addition of some ruler ribbon....

and...Viola!!!

What will Santa stuff your stocking with??

On my Horizon

I think you can make ANY thing with Kate Spain's Horizon....
(or any of her other lines!!)

and
 it would be fabulous...

After Terry Whitman has finished her magic quilting it.....

I have a heck of a time giving it away...

Even though I made this for someone in mind....

I think this is going to have to live with me for awhile longer....

At least till I can make myself one!!

'Lost City'

This pattern is can be found on HERE

Under the Cuzco link!!

Gorgeous!!!

Bounce by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.

Well, Like I need another project........

buuut ...

Tracey from The Block Party Guild Blog suggested WE (Tracey~ please note the large letters and underlining) participate in the Scnibbles Parade for October, since it is a pattern we recently purchased.

Isn't PDF pattern downloading an incredible invention??

Instant gratification!

So I,like a sheep...baaaa
and
Tracey - being the shepard....carries a mean hook
....I said sure!!

I had purchased my first layer cake pack of Kate Spain's Cuzco.

This is not fabric I ordinarily am attracted to but thought I would get out of my box for a bit!

It is a sad state of affairs when you see that 42- 10x10" squares plus some background it enough to complete this entire quilt.

With 4 hours of cutting and sewing with this organized chaos......

I have managed to put a few blocks together.

I see that I have fallen into my old 'tricks' and co-ordinated the colors I like. I will have to challenge myself and hit the rest of the colors if I plan to keep this scrappy!!

Happy Sunday.. and long weekend!

Weyburn Quilt show

A car load of Marcottes and a Holzer loaded a van and headed to the Crocus Quilt Show in Weyburn,Saskatchewan yesterday.
First, we were wined and dined with a great feast at Christine and Omer Marcotte's. Omer was kind enough to take care of dish.

Very much appreciated!!!!

Gloria introducing Wayne Kollinger

Then it was off to the show, where over half the quilts in the show were quilted by Terry Whitman.
Terry is still on her vacation but she was up close and personal with 53 of the quilts so technically she only missed half the show!!
We stayed to take in the trunk show which featured Wayne Kollinger and his wife from Calgary, Alberta. Wayne is very technical and has great eye for experimenting with color. His blocks and thoughts were very interesting and amazing all at the same time.
Wayne's Blog is definitely worth a read!!
Today I found some time to sew up a few of the petals to Moda's Garden Party quilt.
Garden Party  Pattern
There is a fair bit of folding and turning involved in this one......like 250 petals!!
At least it was spring-y in my sewing room.

It sure was not outside today!!

And as you can see, there was some pretty heavy traffic in Dawson's bed today!!

Pretty bad when there is thread trailing out of  the dog's bed!!

I even got started on my Crabapple Hill's 'How Does your Garden Grow'!

Please excuse the wrinkles!! I am not using a hoop.
I will be sure to press for the next update!

Spring must be in the air as I seem to be having a re-occuring theme in my projects this month.
Totally subliminal!!

Here's hoping for some Spring tomorrow!!
