Cherrywood Challenge 2020 - Princess Diana

Crazy.....

Like a fox...

This guy thinks he lives here now!!

But the really crazy part?!?!??

My entry for Cherrywood Challenge 2020
has been chosen to travel!
(at least some one gets to travel)

The Theme was Princess Diana
and
being Canadian....I had to give it a shot!

This is the 4th time I have entered
AND
the fourth time I have been chosen to travel!

Now that is CRAZY!!

2017 - Van Gough

Finally home....

2018 - Prince(the singer)

I think he is in Minnesota at the moment

2019 Bob Ross

He's still out gallivanting somewhere in the world.

The first Challenge I ever entered was the  Hoffman Challenge 2014.

This Butterfly Kisses toured for a year with them.

The second was this purse for Hoffman 2016.

It also toured for a year.

Last Year, I tried the Trendtex Challenge for Canadian Quilter

Which thanks to all of you....

Made Viewer's Choice!!
(insert bow of thanks here)

I remember when I started this one at guild,

they all looked at me with a funny eye.

This fabric screamed 'Halloween' to me but what the heck...

I had nothing but time to lose.

I won a ribbon and 100$!!!!

I am currently finishing up 2021 Trendtex Challenge.

I love the challenges that specify

you can only use the pack of fabric that is provided.

One less decision to make.

Give it a try sometime!

It makes you think outside of your box
and
inside their perimeters!

Ps.
Thank you to everyone guessing the date of my quilt on Facebook!

You're getting close!

Hoffman Challenge 2016

These are the fabrics for the Hoffman Challenge 2016

'Crystalia'

I decided to incorporate both into my entry this year

Into this....

You can read more about the making of this HERE

I got the call last week that it was chosen to travel with the Hoffman show
and
needed to be mailed in for judging by August 8th, 2016

I put it in the mail...

I received a call from Hoffman saying how they received it...

Pretty sure USPS ran it over and dragged it all the way to California!!

It was wrapped up in plastic and soaking wet when it got there!!

Pretty mangled....

Thanks, USPS...

Hoffman was going to try to do their best to get it to lay flat and dry

Here's to hoping....

Crystalia.....Hoffman challenge 2016

Calving has been going well.

The weather has been fabulous
and
the new cattle dogs, Scout and Pepper have been a lot of help

Scout is always on duty....

She never leaves my side.....
making sure every one stays away when we pull string off the bales

As far as sewing....

Crystalia is this years Hoffman Challenge fabric

 in white AND black

Since its butterflies I thought I'ld try a cathedral version of a butterfly

This was my base.
It's hard to see but it white butterflies on white

I started filling in the sections

The center are mini windows.

I have to say they were tricky little suckers!!

Let see how this entry flies!!!

Have a great weekend!

I know I will...
Retreat...
Good food...Justin is cooking for us....

I`ll take pics for all who couldn`t make it!!

If This Bag Could Talk.....

Not me....This bag....

I called it 'Stepping Out'

It was my entry for the 2014 Hoffman Challenge

She has been travelling the States with the Hoffman Show

You had to incorporate this fabric....

Indigo Collection

This is what I did with it...

She had the honour of being with the Travelling Show with Hoffman Fabrics

I should have called her 'Runaround Sue' because she was all over the place!!
Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival in Loveland, CO
~
Amish Country Quilt Show in Dalton, OH
~
World Quilt Show in Davie, FL
~
Hoffman International Fabrics in Mission Viero, CA
~
Pioneer Florida Museum Farm Fest and Quilt Show in  Dade City, FL
~
Carnegie Wing Gallery in Zanesville,OH
~
World Quilt Show, New  England in Manchester,NH

Can you imagine if she could talk?!?!?

I should have installed a recording device so I could hear the things they said in Amish Country!

I imagine the peeps saying "Where would you 'step out' with that?"

These are the fabrics for 2016

"Crystalia"

There is a white version..

and a black version

I can see some potential with these!!
