2020 was a very strange year.

We managed to not contract Covid so far...

However I am pretty sure I already had it in November 2019.

I have asthma and chalked up my inability to breathe to that.

We went to Vegas and by the last day I asked if they could push me in a wheel chair.

I could not keep up.

I had many moments that I thought I was going to be found dead by my family.

I started to inform my family where my inhalers were at all times.

I even started to write up a will as to what my family should do with all my 'stuff''

Our youngest made me go to the dr and had x-rays,

Something was going on in my left lung.

I was put on a nebulizer with some drugs for quite a few weeks.

I have been wheezy ever since then but feel like I will live now.

Was never tested for Covid... wish there was a test to tell you if you had it.

It doesn't matter at this point.

2021....be good to us...please!

I miss travelling, hanging with my quilting buddies, and my family.

I miss hugs.

So sick of elbow pumps.

Until the world returns to normal...

I will be in my sewing room stitching up a few more thing!

Three Dudes Quilt in Missouri Star Style

I have been chomping at the bit to do something

 with

these new strip sets we just brought in.

The colors in this set are so striking with some black yardage.

I knew exactly what I was going to do with them.

The Three Dudes Quilt Shop in Arizona originally made this pattern

but

Jenny Doan of Missouri Star

and

The Man Quilter - Rob Appell

Made a video to demonstrate just how easy it really is!!

Just click on the video about to get the pattern.

I quickly cracked this pack of strips

and

began arranging in to sets of dark and lights.

Sewed them together and cut them to size to be resewn together.

It gives you a couple of colorways for each set.

They are stacked in opposite directions and sewn together

And cut again diagonally in both directions.

Simple...Then you have a mess of blocks to play with.

Actually I had started on my design floor
but
The grandpup is over and he is a galooop.

A tank on 4 legs......

Bull in a china shop....

You get the idea!

The grandkids can't come over in lockdown
but
no rules around pooches.

This has forced me to FINALLY put up my design WALL

The possibilities are endless!!

I will be here a while...

as I decide placement of these blocks.

To be continued....

Rue 1800 by 3 Sisters

Speaking of roads...

The road is long for my package from sister...

She only lives in Calgary

 but

this package has some serious air miles!

She mailed one box for my parents

and

one for my family on November 29,2020

(at least its still the same year)

Mom got theirs in about 5 days...

Mine?? It's taking the long road home.

It has been to 10 different stops, twice to the each province

Tannis says it's on the move again!

Hoping the glass that was in this box is not shattered at this point!

The teller put the wrong postal code in the computer
so
not sure if it will ever arrive till someone reads the real address!

Oh well...
I am not going anywhere!

I stumbled on this picture in my phone today.

These were the shelves at our Walmart in April.

Seems like years ago and still unbelievable really.

Who ever thought we would experience hoarding for fear of missing out.

I didn't hoard toilet paper,flour or yeast...

We live on the farm....we are always stocked for any emergency!

But I did buy this kit of Rue 1800 by 3 Sisters
when
 the lockdown began.

I finished in the Fall but haven't quilted it yet.

It is pretty muted

so some quilting could really give it some life.

I need to thank my friend, Peggy for her tip on how to keep an ironing board clean.

She suggested to cut waxed butcher paper to fit your board and press it in place.

Just change when it gets too used.

I swear my blocks are so much flatter!!

What a great tip!!

I can't believe where this year has gone.

It's only 6-8 weeks before these little cuties start to arrive again...

This little tyke turned out to be the cutest heifer

She was a keeper!

Where the heck do the days go??

I have to thank everyone for their kind words on reading my blog...

I also realize I am writing to a trapped audience!lol

Glad to hear you have been entertained!
